Engineering Inspections & Insurance
Engineering inspections are important to ensure that the machinery and equipment within your commercial building are safe to use. In fact, it is a legal requirement for a competent person to regularly assess certain items under various Health and Safety Legislation. These may include, but are not limited to:
- Passenger or goods lifts (including stair lifts and window gantries)
- Pressurised boiler systems
- Steam Pressure Coffee Machines
- Lifting equipment (including forklift trucks and cranes)
- Items involving the use of wires, chains, ropes or hydraulics
- Compressors and pressure systems
- Fixed Electrical installations
- PAT Testing
We can arrange for an inspection by a competent person visiting your premises on a regular basis, where they will assess the necessary machinery and equipment. They will then produce a report of their findings which will to be made available to you.
The report will confirm which items have passed the inspection, meaning they adhere to current, legal safety standards; and which have failed and require remedial action to enable it to pass.
Along with providing inspection services, we can arrange machinery insurance cover for your equipment. If, for instance, a piece of equipment in the building is damaged because of a power surge, the cost to repair or replace it can be significant.
